The Glass Dimensions story begins with the gifted hands of a New England artisan. While working as a scientific glass blower in the late 1960's Dave Perkins developed a passion for shaping the molten red glow of glass into the compelling designs of his imagination. Setting up shop in the basement of his home, Dave honed his skills in the art of glass blowing while his two young sons watched with fascination. His striking glass designs soon attracted the attention of local area gift shops. By 1974 with demand growing for his work, Dave was finally able to devote himself entirely to his passion. Together with his wife Maureen, he founded Glass Dimensions, and his vision for enhancing the lives of others with his craft was born. On March 18th, 1975, Glass Dimensions was officially incorporated. Dave's designs are remarkable in the way they reveal the beauty of simplicity. His commitment to quality ensures each piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. You will find that Dave's designs serve as striking centerpieces for celebrating life's special moments, provide the spark for those festive gatherings, and create a relaxing ambiance for quiet evenings at home. Over 30 years later, the story continues to unfold at the Glass Dimensions shop in Essex, Massachusetts. Dave & Maureen, joined by their two sons and the rest of the Glass Dimensions family, continue to build on their passion for shaping glass and their vision of bringing life enhancing handcrafted glass decor to your home. |
